Greenest Automaker Title Goes To Honda
The 2007 Greenest Automaker title has been given by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) to the Honda Motor Company and such a title has been bestowed to the car maker for the fourth time.
The latter is currently considered to the car company in the US which is fuel efficient. And the title is actually given out by the UCS every two years and the UCS decides which company rightfully deserves to take home the title after considering which car makers has vehicles in their US fleet which has the least number of overall production of emissions that forms smogs as well as emissions that affect global warming.
Global Warming - Two easy steps to repair any worn engine…
Press Release Body = Ipswich Suffolk March 2007.
A new category of engine oil called metal treatments quickly and inexpensively re-metallizes worn engines. Traditionally internal combustion engines wear themselves out at the rate of 1/1000\" per year, requiring engine rebuilds and replacement spare parts every few years, costing thousand of pounds. This is about to change as an innovative tiny metal particle called CSL (copper silver lead spheres) suspended in engine oil can now repair and reverse engine wear, and thereby postpone physical engine repairs almost indefinitely. A typical re-metalizing engine repair requires a litre of this wonder lube, containing billions of the tiny CSL particles. The particles are in the range of 2-20 microns in diameter and look like tiny spheres, or space asteroids, under an electron microscope. The tiny smooth particles pass easily through paper oil filters and are only burnished into engine metal where there is heat and pressure, so no worries about blocking up filters or oil lines.
Flex Fuel Cars Are Not So Clean
After the meeting between President George Bush and the CEOs of the Big Three, the general public commended the dedication of the parties to make the United States' energy quite dependent.
While there are flex fuel cars in production which can run on alternative fuels, Business Week reported that the promise of these vehicles is not what they seem to be. This reaction comes after the President held the energy meeting with the Big Three and did not invite Toyota to the party.
New Technology for Hybrid Vehicles
Hybrid vehicles have become more and more popular in the U.S. since Toyota introduced the Prius. This fuel efficient vehicle is equipped with a small engine that is powered commonly by gasoline. Its fuel efficiency is due to the use of an electric motor which supplies the additional power to aid the engine.
While a small engine may not be suitable for some driving conditions, the electric motor powered by an on board battery pack makes the power produced by the small engine adequate enough. But designers and engineers in the auto industry are constantly looking for ways to improve the performance of a hybrid vehicle. Turbodyne Technologies Inc. is one of the companies looking for ways to improve the performance of hybrid cars. Recently, the company announced that they have developed a new technology which is aimed to help hybrid vehicles perform even better.
BMW Goes Green
The increase in awareness in the global community regarding global warming is already widespread. Different sectors in the community of nations are already taking steps to combat the further destruction of the environment.
One industry making great leaps to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere is the automotive world. Different car makers have come up with developmental plans that will see production of vehicles totally independent from fossil fuel use.
Car manufacturers all around the world are also looking for ways to reduce the emission of conventional diesel or gasoline engines. One car manufacturer joining the fray of auto makers going green is the Bavarian Motor Works commonly known as the German based car maker BMW.
German Car Manufacturers Going “Green”
The global community is now under siege of the global warming issue. To counter the huge amount of greenhouse gases being released by vehicles all over the world, car manufacturers continue to develop ways to cut down the fuel consumption of their production vehicles.
The American International Automobile Dealers Association's (AIADA) newsletter recently reported that German carmakers are among the players in the auto industry which have taken a keen interest in producing environment friendly cars. This may be their response to the ongoing debate on the stricter EURO6 emission standards set to be implemented in the year 2015. The steps being taken by German car makers are also a big help in the protection of the environment.
